Hypnotherapy

What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy utilises Hypnosis, an altered state of awareness, in which the therapist can assist you in accessing deeper levels of consciousness.

How does Hypnosis Work?

Hypnosis is a deep state of relaxation, a day-dreamy state, in which your unconscious mind will accept positive suggestions. When your body is relaxed your mind becomes calm, and in a hypnotic state your mind becomes more receptive.

Your unconscious mind is the “control” part of your mind, which is responsible for your reactions, habits and behaviours. It is also the realm of your emotions, and communicates with you through your feelings.

Can anyone be hypnotised?
If you can relax and follow simple instructions then you definitely can be hypnotised. You won’t be unconscious, but you will feel deeply relaxed.

What if I fall asleep?
Occasionally some people do fall asleep, and that’s fine because the unconscious mind is always listening.

I am frightened of not being in control.
This fear usually stems from a misunderstanding about hypnosis. Hypnosis is not something that’s done to you – you are always in control. A hypnotist cannot take over your mind, although some stage hypnotists may make it look that way. Hypnosis is about mastering your own mind – mind over matter as the saying goes.

Will I be able to drive afterwards?
If you could drive before the hypnosis, YES! Seriously, at the end of the session you will very quickly feel refreshed and alert, and will function just as perfectly as you did before the session.
